Tuition has been established for 2016-17, and it’s similar to what was estimated. It will be $760.00 for 3 credit units, so your 15-credit Internship will be $3,800.00. Second semester will also be $3,800.00 for all 5 classes, totaling $7,600.00 tuition for the year.
If possible, please provide confirmation from Gallivan that you have opted out of the Health Plan so we don’t charge an additional $252.00. Otherwise, the College will assume you are in the plan.
We will see you August 24 and 25 for your Internship Seminars!
Here’s a brief tuition update. We’re sorry to report that based on the June Provincial Budget, the Universities won’t know exact tuition increases until July. James McNinch from the U of R agreed with our estimate of a 5% increase, so based on that, tuition would be $766.50 for 3 credit units. That totals $3832.50 for the internship, $3832.50 again for the five second-semester classes, and $252.00 for the Health Plan.
We also apologize for having to estimate books, but booklists are updated by semester, so the Winter Term list won’t be available until November at the earliest. In the past, we’ve asked students to estimate $1000.00 per semester, but each previous semester’s totals have been less than half of that, so please estimate accordingly.
As always, send any questions my way.
Many of you have been asking about tuition rates for 2016-17, since you are applying for funding. Unfortunately, the U of R will need to know its allocation from the government before it decides on tuition, and that will be after June 1st. Apologies to everyone since we don’t yet have current information.
Last year’s tuition increase was 3.8%, and is expected to be higher this year. With an estimated 5% increase on last year’s rates, tuition would be around $766.50 for 3 credit units. That totals $3832.50 for the internship, $3832.50 again for a full course load (15 credit units) in Semester 2, and $252.00 for the health plan. For the full course load, that comes to $7917.00.
This is only an estimate and not an official statement on tuition.
Hopefully this helps with the funding applications, and we hope to have official news in June.
For anyone needing a T2202A stating how many months you were in the program this year, please note that due to your status as U of R students, the College’s T2202As cannot contain that info. For a T2202A with your number of months enrolled, please check your UR Self-Service account.
